The Dr. Edmund Simpson Papers contain two types of materialpamphlets, broadsides, and miscellany printed by Blackwood Press, and original wood block prints (ca. 13.5 x 10") created by Dr. Simpson.In 1956 Simpson bought a 6 x 10 hand press and began fine printing. He owned and operated the Blackwood Press in Placerville, CA, and was a member of the Book Club of California and the Roxburghe Club of San Francisco. He died in Beaverton, Oregon, October 6, 1990.
